The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8
Most people don’t think about it, bur pastors need pastors. Pastors need to hear the word preached and taught. To have a person to confide in and talk with. Why? Because they are people with needs, just like everyone else. Today I heard a sermon by Steven Furtick that was so good, I have to share a truth from it with you.
He was saying about how the first time he spoke in Australia. On FaceTime he was able to call home at bedtime to say goodnight to his then young children. They were amazed that it was morning there and nighttime here. But before they said goodbye, his one son asked him, “Daddy can you tell us what is going to happen tomorrow?”
What a question! Only a child would have a perspective like that. No wonder the Abba calls us His children, He wants us to see Him like the Furtick kids saw their Dad. He wants us to know He’s already in our tomorrow’s waiting for us. And not only that, today’s verse reminds us that He is wherever we need Him to be.
Where do you need Him to meet you? Are you worrying about tomorrow, He’s already there. Are you regretting something from today and feeling guilty? He’s reminding you right now your sins are forgiven. Are you fearful of the future? He knows what lies ahead and if we listen to Him He will help us navigate through whatever we meet there. As Steven Furtick put it, how awesome is it that we have a Father who knows all about our tomorrows.
