Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
Our brains have been compared to computers and God created the hardware they run on. He made us with a conscious, sub-conscious and even a superconscious. Although the superconscious is a fairly new area of study, many neuroscientists believe it’s here that we connect the best with God. But then we also have software, that we get through our environment, circumstances and relationships with others. Because we receive so mush negative input, people, especially our youth are having trouble seeing themselves as they truly have been created to be.
So we often see ourselves through the eyes of this world and we don’t like what we see. We live in a society where we’re supposed to be perfect, have the perfect job, live in the perfect place. However reality tells us there is no such thing and confusion sets in. But when we remember who created us and how much He loves us and are valued, we begin to see ourselves through the eyes of Abba our heavenly Father. Because He loves us with unconditional love we can embrace the truth of today’s verse that it’s ok to be weak.
We can actually rejoice in our weaknesses, because we know in them He will be strong in us. We never have to fear He won’t show up, for He is always with us. Think about it, God only used people who had weaknesses so He could show them what He could do through them, and He’s still doing it today if we will let go and follow His lead. So the next time you make a mistake, or react to a problem in the wrong way, just remember He’s got us and He will work it all out for our good. So rejoice where you are weak and thank Him for being strong in you.
