And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
Have you ever heard of a product called Cellucotton? Unless you’re in your ninety’s probably not, but you probably use it several times a day. It was first used on the battlefield in WWI, then by the movie industry and finally by the general public. Give up? It’s a tissue and it’s still filling a need today.
During the war this combination of cotton and wood fibers was used in filters for gas masks and dressing wounds, Because there was so much of the product remaining after the war Kimberly-Clark decided instead of destroying it, there had to be a use for it here in the states, So they marketed it to the film industry as a new disposable way to remove the heavily staining make-up. Movie stars loved them and before long they was an advertising campaign to reach the general public. Women loved them, but they were reporting their husbands were using them in place of handkerchiefs.
Soon after with the combining of the disposable hankie and a “new” pop-up tissue box and sales were going through the roof! But the question remained, was this product a make-up remover or a disposable hankie. The debate raged on into the Board Room. Finally they took the issue to the public by giving our two coupons to shoppers as they entered stores in Peoria, Illinois. One coupon was for make-up tissues, the other for disposable hankies, and the tissue as we now know it was born.
It took over six years for Kimberly-Clark to decide which use of their product would meet the greatest need. But with God every need in our life is great and important to Him and He longs to fill those needs for using only a way He can often times. Do you have a need in your life right now? If so go to God, tell Him and then believe that you will receive what you have asked for.
