So for the second time they called in the man who had been blind and told him, “God should get the glory for this, because we know this man Jesus is a sinner.” 25 “I don’t know whether he is a sinner,” the man replied. “But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!” John 9:24-25
The response of the former blind man to the religious leaders is priceless. No flowery, wordy, eloquent answers, just a to the point no frills one. “I don’t know whether He is a sinner all I know is, once I was blind, but now I see!”
Sometimes I think we are trying to be too convincing with people about Jesus. It’s almost like we’re Jesus’ marketing director, trying to “sell” Him to people. The problem is He is not a “product” to be used, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life to not only change but transform us.
Just like this former blind man, we should be more willing to tell people how He changed our lives rather than debating with someone as to who He is. But that’s rather hard to do when we’re focused on the wrong thing to get a persons attention and listen to us.
People want to hear first hand reports of our relationship with Him and how different life is with Him. Why? Because when we tell them with joy and excitement, they can picture in their minds what He can do for us, He also can do for them. Beloved, accepting Jesus as our Savior and Lord is the best thing that ever could happen to us, so why not tell others what He has done in our lives. The time to keep quiet is past, we need to let the whole world know what an awesome Savior and Lord we have and we want them to experience Him also!
