For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:8
Yesterday I took a friend grocery shopping. It was a very uneventful trip, until we were almost to her house. Because of construction we couldn’t go home the usual way. Then we got close and saw there was no parking in the front, so we decided to park in the back. As we were taking the groceries in I noticed the stray cat that I had seen in her yard before and even petted and talked to. But today was different, I realized she had Feline Herpes Virus, which is not harmful to humans, but deadly to cats, and she was dying.
We knew she needed more help than either of us could give her. Although I had to go, we decided Linda should call Animal Control and we’d stay in touch. And so the phone calling began when she had to leave a message. So she called the Animal Shelter, one person said she had to place the cat in a box so they could pick her up. Then when she called back to tell them she was, that person said they couldn’t do it, it was her problem.
That’s when we decided we needed to pray. So we believed that when two were in agreement they would receive what they asked for. We sought a way to get the cat help and we kept knocking and now we needed the door to be opened and only God could do that. So we prayed and thanked Him that since He cared about little birds, He also cared about this cat. That He told us to boldly come into His throne room when we needed help and knew He was willing to meet this need. And that He when Linda would call the Animal Shelter back a person with a kind heart would answer the phone and come get the cat and help make her comfortable. In a few minutes she called back and said they were coming for her and within a half hour, they were able to take her to the shelter.
Once again Linda and I prayed and thanked God for His kindness, love, mercy and grace and answering our prayers. And for remining us that He truly does care about all His creation and His heart of love is greater than any of us can imagine even if we don’t understand it sometimes, that still doesn’t change the truth that nothing can ever separate us from His love.
