“And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
How many times do Believers say this verse with gusto. But have we truly considered what the joy of the the Lord is and how it becomes our strength. In order to know, we have to read the verses before and after it. So only in reading verses 1-12 can we know what His joy truly is.
We may be surprised to learn that the joy of the Lord is when His children read, hear, understand and learn His Word. That is what brings joy to Him and strength to us. Joy to Him because through reading, hearing, understanding and learning His Word do we get to know Him and who He truly is in all His glory. We develop an intimate relationship with Him and that is such a joy to His heart.
As our relationship with Him grows so does our strength to live this life as He always created us to do, to have dominion over all He has given us and to conquer and overcome all that the enemy is trying to destroy us with. Yes Beloved of God, the joy of the Lord truly is our strength!
