Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23
Years ago in almost every Church Nursery you could hear the song O be careful little eyes what you see, O be careful little eyes what you see. For the Father up above is looking down in love, O be careful littles eyes what you see. The next verse was about little ears and what they hear, and then little mouths and what they say. I think we all should be singing that song on a daily basis until its truths sink in.
We are so inundated 24/7/365 with all the turmoil, upheaval, catastrophes and evil in the world, our senses are overwhelmed. It’s taking its toll un us mind, body and spirit; depression, anxiety, stress, autoimmune diseases, chronic illness, suicides, self harm and the breakdown of relationships are at an all time high. This is why Satan loves to work through our senses, so he can keep us bound, captive and control and manipulate us. And he does it very proficiently through deception and lies.
What lies are you believing that the enemy is ensnaring you with. A snare is so descriptive of how he gets us because a snare is set to lure us in with something that catches our attention and is pleasing to us. Once we reach in to enjoy they lure, it lasso’s us and the more we try to get free the tighter it becomes until we become so weary and in pain that we just give up and endure it. How diabolical is that! Like I said, Satan knows what he’s doing. So over the next couple of days we’re going to look at how we get caught with what we see, hear and say and how we can not only avoid the snare, how Jesus releases us from the snares we already are in. Oh yes, isn’t that just like our Savior who already has made a way for us to get free from the enemies traps. I encourage you today to start by singing O Be Careful Little Eyes, and if you don’t know it, Google it, yes it’s there and you’ll be singing it all day long. Enjoy!
