As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.” Genesis 8:22
The Harvest Season has come and for a change it even feels like it. I live surrounded by farms and every day more and more of the fields are giving up their bounty to the farmers who are working diligently to take in the harvest. As I watch them on their tractors with all the different machines, some to bale hay, some to pick corn, some for soy beans others for getting the soil ready for Spring, believe it or not. And I wonder how farmers did this before all these machines. I mean even when traffic has to slow down because of a tractor going from one field to another, it’s still is much faster not only than horse and buggy, but a man walking behind a plow.
But no matter how it’s done, today’s verse reminds us that we are still awaiting the return of Jesus to change all things. And until that happens, we must live for Him every day and fulfill His request to go into all the world and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So as long as there is today, let’s take every opportunity to share Jesus with others and tell them of His love, mercy and grace. After all, He is lingering for the Spiritual harvest so more people will join us in heaven
