My people (who are known by My name) humbly pray, follow My commandments, and abandon any actions or thoughts that might lead to further sinning, then I shall hear their prayers from My house in heaven, I shall forgive their sins, and I shall save their land from the disasters. 2 Chronicles 7:14 The Voice
Yesterday at sundown Rosh Hashanah the Jewish New Year began, it is also called the Feast of Trumpets. Today is the first day known as the Ten Days of Awe which ends with The Day of Atonement the most Holy day on the Jewish Calendar.
This year especially we as Believers are being called on to observe these ten days. During this time the Jews were told to humbly examine themselves and consider the changes they would need to make to repent and turn their hearts back to God. How many of us realize and know that now more than ever we need to do the same. We’ve been talking about it as a group thing that will culminate in us meeting in a solemn assembly in Washington DC. But the assembly first begins with each Believer as an individual to come before God for this is where revival and restoration begins, the one out of many getting their heart right alone before Almighty God.
We ask you to join us over these next Ten Days from now until Yom Kipur to spend time with the Lord, asking Holy Spirit to search our hearts and minds. To call on Him to bring to the surface all the things that are hindering your relationship with Him. Not just sin, but deeper things that will require us to change our minds and be transformed. Things like realizing trying to earn His approval and love are wrong, because He’s already paid for it all. Seeing Him as our last chance instead of our first choice. That He keeps His promises even when we haven’t been faithful to Him. That He wants our hearts and love more than anything else. Just ask Holy Spirit to start showing you what you need to change, and He will, then do it.
Over the next ten days, we will be having special devotions to help us start a revival in each of us, that will set this nation and world on fire when we come together in like heart and mind and allow Jesus to live through us.
