You can ask him for anything, using my name, and I will do it, for this will bring praise to the Father because of what I, the Son, will do for you. John 14:13b
On Sunday we had a technically problem. Our tech person who live streams the sermon was away. So she left the phone we use, how to set it up, stream and post, along with the specific instruction to charge the phone. But guess who forgot to charge the phone and not realize it until we set it up and the low battery announcement glared at me.
So after saying “Oh no! I forgot” everyone began to pull out their phone cords and none of them worked! I remember thinking, “you’ve got to be kiding me, none of them!” So, I said “we’ll just have to go for it and stream for as long as we can.” Since we started late, I explained we had technical problems and then I got the Holy Spirit nudge to say we’re going to believe that God will keep the battery charged until we’re finished. I thought about this verse and that we were gathering to bring glory to the Father through the Son. After all, God’s the One who said nothing was too hard for Him (Genesis 18:14) when He declared that Sarah would have a baby at 91! So what was a cell phone battery to Him?
He once again showed Himself to be faithful and that He can and will work through anything when we truly believe it is possible. Today’s verse became a reality for all who watched and will watch Sunday’s sermon. A sermon that reminded us of the Commissions Jesus gave us before He returned to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father to ever intercede for us, especially in seemingly impossible situations. So next time you’re facing an impossible situation, remember if it will bring glory to the Father, then ask in the name of Jesus, believe in Him and watch Him show Himself to be faithful.
