so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17
The other 7:17.day I saw a question, “who is your 27:17?” Then at the lower right corner it said, “And what does that mean?” Then there was today’s verse. We all need someone who is willing to be honest with us, to challenge us, confront us when needed and to be there for us when we need a shoulder to cry on and hug. Although this verse refers to people we have a relationship with, it can extend farther than that to whomever we have an opportunity to influence.
It could be the people we work with, or at the grocery store, school, groups we belong to. As Believers in Jesus Christ, we are different than the world or as I like to say, we’re uncommon. And the reason is because we have asked Jesus to be our Savior and Lord we have received His Holy Spirit to live in us. We are children of the Most High God and joint heirs with Jesus. And as 1 John 4:17 says, as Jesus is so are we in this world. We can be Jesus to those who otherwise would never know Him otherwise and because of us they want to know Him as their Savior also, so they can become someone’s 27:17.
