This righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ for all those [Jew or Gentile] who believe [and trust in Him and acknowledge Him as God’s Son]. Romans 3:22
Yesterday in the sermon I said that we should ask God to see ourselves as He sees us, so we can see what we need to change in ourselves. After I said it, I reiterated that God sees us as righteous because He sees us through the blood of Jesus. I began to think about how contradictory that may sound. But really it isn’t.
When we pray and ask God to see us the way He does, He sees us as all we can be. With Him there are no limitations only helping us reach our optimal potential. When we see things we need to change, we’re seeing what needs to be removed so we can become everything we were created to be. And we’re not even asked to change ourselves. When we want to be transformed by God all we need to do is give ourselves over to His will and not ours (which by the way is so lacking). The more we allow Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct us the more our will becomes more like God’s and more and more we are showing Jesus to others. Just as Jesus drew people to Himself when He walked this earth, we too will begin to see people wanting to know Him. And after all isn’t that the very thing we were asked to do when Jesus left this earth? To make disciples.
