The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.” Psalm 92:12-15
Lately I’ve been getting a lot of e-mails for products to make me “look and feel younger”. It’s amazing how many things are out there to put in and on our bodies to regain our youthfulness. And honestly I shouldn’t be surprised because of my age, but on my windowsill by my sink is today’s passage and I see and declare it several times a day over myself. Truth is there is more power to restore our youthfulness in this passage than all the products combined, and much cheaper too!
Proverbs 4:20-23 reminds us that the Word is life and health to our entire bodies. And when we read it, meditate on it and declare it Isaiah 55:11 tells us what it says will never return void. Now this doesn’t mean we shouldn’t eat well, exercise and take care of ourselves. But it does mean it will enhance whatever we do because it reminds us that we can do things to stay fit but only God can give us good health. Notice this restored youth isn’t just so we can look and feel good, but so that we can declare the goodness of our Father. If you are feeling a bit old these days, I encourage you to take at least one daily dose of Psalm 92:12-1 believing and receiving the power of the Word and watch for what God can do!
