Thank God that you, who were at one time the servants of sin, honestly responded to the impact of Christ’s teaching when you came under its influence. Then, released from the service of sin, you entered the service of righteousness. Romans6:17-18
Next week is Thanksgiving, so there’s no better time than now to begin giving thanks. This time of year especially we begin to think of all the things we can give God thanks for. But the gest gift He ever gave us we often forget about or give it an afterthought. It’s His gift of Salvation that’s like one big package filled with so many other gifts, like forgiveness of our sins, past, present and future. The amazing gift of righteousness that means we have been reconciled back to our Father.
But so many Believers seem to forget about their gift righteousness. It’s not something can be earned or bought, it’s something that has to be received and accepted from Jesus. It means we are in right standing with Abba and that is how He now sees us, no longer sinners, but children of the Most High God! Royal blood is flowing through our veins. We are now saints. But if we keep seeing ourselves as sinners, than we will focus on our sin, rather than our dominion over it. So let’s begin Thanksgiving this year remembering who we are through Christ Jesus, Who has forgiven all our sins and made us righteous and beloved children of Father God. For when we remember this how can we not give thanks!
