Once again, it’s time to “spring ahead”! Tonight before we go to bed, we’ll be turning the clocks ahead, it’s something we find ourselves doing every spring and “fall back” every November. In the spring, as I walk around changing the clocks, that don’t change themselves, I can’t help but think of Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? We look to the sun for light, warmth and hope, but tonight I’m reminded who truly is our Light. The Lord who has given the light of salvation to all who recieve forgivenss from His Son, Jesus so that we no longer have to fear anything, because He is with us. He protects us and keeps us surrounded by His love, grace and mercy. What a comforting and peaceful thought, even if I’m experiencing difficulties or hurting emotionally.
Why do I find such comfort? Because His Light reveals Who He is. See, the Hebrew word for Salvation is Yeshua, that’s right it’s the Hebrew name for Jesus and it means deliverance, help, prosperity, saving, security and victory. So tonight as you change your clocks and watches, remember the Light has come and shown in the darkness to light your way and know you can truly rest becuase He has covered you with His salvation.
