So pay everyone what you owe them. Pay the taxes you owe, pay the duties you are charged, give respect to those you should respect, and honor those you should honor. Romans 13:7 CEB
Today is Veteran’s Day, a day that is just another day to many Americans. But the truth is every American should spend this day with grateful hearts to all the men and women through out the centuries that served in our Armed Forces. Because of their service to this nation, we could have an Election last week to cast our votes for the leadership of this nation. That we can have freedom to worship at the church of your choice yesterday without fear of being arrested. That we have men and women who are willing to protect us on a daily basis and who run into danger to keep us safe.
I think the one quote from a wounded veteran says it all, “You don’t go fight because of what you hate, but for what you love and want to protect at home.” Many of them gave up time with their families, their peace of mind and health and came home with physical and mental disabilities all because they wanted to protect this nation they love and it’s citizens. And they would do it again, because our freedoms are so valuable. And way too many gave their very lives. These brave men and women truly deserve our honor, respect and thanks. So if you know or see a Veteran today, please remember to thank them for all the freedoms you are enjoying at their expense.
