So no weapon that is used against you will defeat you.
You will show that those who speak against you are wrong.
These are the good things my servants receive.
Their victory comes from me,” says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17 NCV
Over the past several days we have seen the enemy try his best to discredit God, His principles, His ways and His people. The Confirmation Hearings on Capitol Hill have been the scene of an invisible battlefield. Not between two political parties or people, but against the powers and principalities of the air. Satan is on the warpath, he knows his time is running short, yet he persists in trying to do as much damage to the Kingdom of God and His people as possible. As has been seen with the grilling of Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
But we have also seen the power of Holy Spirit working inside of her. She may be sitting there in modern day clothing, but she is standing in the Armor of Almighty God! How do we know that? Well, firey darts have been hurled at her, at yet she sits poised and ready for them to be extinguished by her shield of faith. Hurtful and destructive words have been said about her and her family, but her heart is covered with the breastplate of righteousness; she knows whose she is. Her mind is clear and she has exhibited total recall from the wisdom and knowledge that God has provided for her because she has on the helmet of Salvation. She is unmoved because she stands in the shoes of the peace of Jesus Christ that goes beyond all understanding. And finally, she may not have quoted scripture, but the principles and precepts of the Word have been the foundation of every word she said, because they are powerful and sharper than any two edged sword and cut to the very marrow of the matters at hand.
We have observed the power of God in someone who is willing to allow themselves to be used of Him through the power of His Holy Spirit. Yes, I admire her greatly and am challenged like her to submit and allow God to do through me what He is doing through her. You may think well, I’m not that intelligent or have that personality, or the advantages she’s had. Maybe not, but those who have accepted Jesus and His sacrifice for us do have the same power within us, the Holy Spirit. So what are we waiting for? Just think what the world would be like if we all allowed that same God to powerfully work through us too?
