“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” – Isaiah 54:10
Today’s verse reminds us that God has a covenant of peace with Israel, but that doesn’t keep it from being attacked by the enemy. But because God has compassion on the land and her people, he will always deliver them in time from any enemy. And history proves that to be true.
But Scripture also tells us that those who bless Israel will be blessed (Genesis 12:3), which should also give Israel’s allies peace of heart and mind. Standing with Israel might not be popular thing to do in this world, but it is the best place to be in the kingdom of God. Psalm 91:2 reminds us that God alone is our refuge and place of safety.
Now more than ever, we who dwell in the shadow of the Most High need to tell those who are fearful of the love of God and the salvation of His Son Jesus that is available for all who seek it. Let us pray for God to open up opportunities for us that share the good news of the Gospel. In so doing He can take that which was meant for evil and turn it into something good, for the salvation of many.
