He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. Acts 10:38 ESV
This past Sunday we learned about the restoration of health, and the next few days our devotions will focus on healing and health. Did you know God wants you well? He just doesn’t want to heal you, He wants you to walk in divine health. Look at today’s verse, it says Jesus went about healing all who were oppressed by the devil. So why is that so important. Because disease, sickness, anxiety, worry, aches and pains and general degeneration comes as a result of the fall in the garden.
Think about it, before Adam and Eve and from the tree of good and evil, there was no disease, sickness, pain and sin in general. When they ate the fruit of knowledge, sin and every thing destructive entered into the world. And the world became a place of oppression whidch by definition is prolonged cruel or unjust treatment. That pretty much sums up everything that entered the world that day from the enemy. But we are reminded that Jesus healed all those who were experiencing that oppression. Which means He not only opposses oppression, but came to live, die and rise again to overcome it, so we can live a healthy productive life. Healing and health are a part of what Jesus accomplished for us at calvary, it cost Him His very life.
Tomorrow we will see in Scripture how important it is for us to know that all every Believer needs for thier healing and to walk in health is already provided for us, we just need to have a better understanding of Jesus and how to access all of His provision.
