And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
We often don’t see Jesus and the Word as One. But according to today’s verse they are. This is why it is so important for us to not only read the Word, but to study and meditate on it. The more we read Scripture the deeper and stronger our relationship with Jesus will be.
When we want to see Him, if we read the Gospels we can picture Him interacting with people. Meeting their everyday needs like providing food, or bringing healing to their bodies. Showing us how we can live out the Salvation He brought us. If we read the Old Testament, we can see pictures of Jesus in the account of Abraham and Isaac going to Mount Moriah, or Joseph being a foreshadow of the life Jesus lived while on earth. We can better see His love and grace for us and how He longs to be active in our lives.
No matter what portion of Scripture we read, speak or meditate on, we are developing our faith and growing our roots deep, so that when troubles and trials come we can live and be strengthened by Him to walk in victory through them. Spend more time in the Word and you’ll be spending more time with Jesus and your life will be transformed.
