“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
This past Sunday we were reminded of what has been done for us through the love of God. And through giving us His one and only Son, He made a way for mankind to come back into a relationship with Him that was lost in the Garden of Eden. This was a very costly gift because it cost Jesus His life.
This is the ultimate gift of grace because it is available for every one to receive. It doesn’t matter your age, gender, color, socio- economic standing, where you live or anything else you can think of. It is a gift you choose to accept or not out of your free will. There is no coercion, manipulation or bribery. It is a gift of true love, for God Himself is love.
This gift of eternal life holds many other gifts that keep on giving to the receiver that helps them live an abundant life here on earth and one that is beyond our comprehension once in heaven. No wonder we call it amazing grace, for it is all of Him and none of us, a gift unlike any other. What has He done for us? Everything and learning to enable all the gifts He has provided for us is the greatest way to show our gratitude and love for all he has given us. How are you using the gifts He has given you?
