Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. Daniel 10:12 NLT
One of the major hindrances that happens to Believers is what is perceived as unanswered prayer. When God doesn’t answer us in the way or time frame we decided our prayer should be answered, we become disappointed. The thing about disappointment is, if not addressed, it becomes discouragement and if that’s left go we soon find ourselves depressed and the last stage is despondency. It’s often been called the “death spiral”, that can be totally avoided! Why? Because we are told in both Daniel 9 and 10 that the very moment our prayers are heard, they are answered. It’s just that sometimes it’s delayed because of spiritual warfare happening in the heavenlies that we can’t see.
We too often forget what a destructive force we can be to the enemy. He tries to deter some of our prayers any way he can when the answering of them will cause major damage to his kingdom and agenda. If he can get us to become frustrated and give up believing, that means he wins. If we persevere and continue to thank God for the answer, we will overcome no matter what. And it’s high time we make the enemy the one who is losing.
