Today I visited a friends Mom who had other visitors. She is dealing with memory loss and used to be the lead singer of a rock band. So her friend always brings song sheets for a sing-a-long and they invited me to stay and sing along with them. We had a wonderful time, singing, hymns and show tunes. But they usually close with singing Jesus Loves Me, the Senior Version.
The lyrics were changed to fit a person getting older, yet Jesus still loves them just the same as when they were younger. But it was the last stanza that really hit me and got me thinking It says, I love Jesus, does He know? Have I ever told Him so? Jesus loves to hear me say, that I love Him every day. Do we ever think how it must bless His heart when we take the time to just say we love Him? Not to ask for anything, or thank Him for what He has done, but just because He’s Him. So why not take some time today and just say, Jesus I love you, just because, You’re You!
