Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah41:10
By this time many of us are feeling like we’re in the movie Ground Hog Day with this winter weather. Besides the forecasts being wrong, We’re shoveling every day, sometimes several times a day. Even watching the football playoffs we’re seeing snow. And when I was thinking about encouraging verses we could use for this time I picked this one because of one word, dismayed.
Here are some of the definitions of dismay I found. Agitation due to an unwelcome situation or occurrence; thoroughly disheartened; upset and bothered. How many of us have felt all of these in the past few days. But look at what God tells us when we feel like that, we don’t have to because He is our God. He is with us in this and He will strengthen and hold us up with His right hand. How awesome is that, I mean He covers us in every area of our beings.
This world makes it easy for us to forget that God has us covered in every way and in every situation. If we’re in the problem or circumstance we can be assured we’re not in it alone and He will bring us through to an outcome that will bring Him glory and for our good. Don’t let the enemy talk you into being dismayed, look instead to the One who already defeated the enemy and know He’s got you covered.
