Titus 2:11-12
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.
When you meet grace, you know it, and leaves you encouraged, accepted and loved, even if what you heard was a word of correction. Why? It’s because, the gift of grace exemplifies the character of God. A peace and meekness that changes everything including the atmosphere. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been in confrontations with people and either I’m mesmerized by their red face looking like it’s going to burst, the spitting while screaming and the glazed over eyes of rage. In that moment, I couldn’t even tell you what they said, because I was focusing on what they looked like and the heaviness of the spirit of anger. Or, I’m the one yelling, either in retaliation or the one who is out of control. Praise God the later happens less frequently, since I asked the Lord to remind me what it looks like when I’m the one out of control.
What a blessing it is when there is a conflict that is confronted with grace. The spirits of anger and fear are dispelled and there can be true conversation that addresses the issue at hand that produces a resolution or at least on the way to one. We know this to be true, because we can see it being played out right before our very lives through the media every day. Unfortunately we forget that this is a tool of the enemy to keep the offense going causing exactly what he came to do, steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10).
My friend that is teaching grace, it reminds us what we have learned through the Word. This teaching grace is empowered by Holy Spirit, John 14:26 tells us that He will remind us of everything and teach us everything the Word tells us. How important is this teaching grace today in our present circumstances? The truth is though unless we get into the Scriptures and learn from them, we will never experience this grace and it not only will hinder us, but hinder the resolution of what’s going on around us.
