All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. 2 Cor. 1:3-5
If we ever are feeling like God doesn’t understand what we are going through or how we feel, all we need to do is read this passage. It reminds us that first of all God doesn’t cause our troubles, but He is always there for us when we are dealing with them. He never lets anything in our lives go to waste, the crisis, trouble, hurt and pain He can use to them to show us His love, compassion, grace so that we in turn at some point in time give comfort to others.
Verse 3 even reminds us that when we suffer for Him, the more He showers us with His comfort. This make the enemy furious because what he wanted to accomplish is not only defeated, but we become stronger through it. So next time you’re between a rock and a hard place, or you’re facing something you can’t change turn it over to Abba and receive His comfort. For in the releasing you receive a blessing and grow in the Lord.
