From out of a storm, the Lord said to Job: Why do you talk so much when you know so little? Now get ready to face me!
Can you answer the questions I ask? How did I lay the foundation for the earth? Were you there?
Doubtless you know who decided its length and width. What supports the foundation? Who placed the cornerstone, Job 38:1-6
Late this afternoon it began getting darker and darker, but there was no rain. By early evening the black clouds began to church and soon the wind picked up and the driving rain wasn’t far behind. It wasn’t a long storm, and it wasn’t destructive but the dark clouds kept the sun from shining for quite some time. Right before sunset, there were breaks in the lower storm clouds and I was taken by the bright blue sky and pink and golden clouds behind them.
My heart was stirred and I thought about how awesome our God is and how life right now is a lot like tonight’s sky. Although there is still a lot of darkness happening around us, if we take the time to look and listen, we can see some light and God moving and letting us know He is in this with us. There is hope and brighter days ahead as long as we keep looking to the Lord, seeking His face and following His leading. May we learn like Job did, that we may not fully see or understand what God is doing, but remember that because He knows things we don’t it’s best to just rest in the glimpses of His presence.
