From Heaven to Earth

I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows—was caught up to the third heaven.  2 Corinthians 12:2

We often talk about the heavens, the one we can see with our eyes and the one where the throne room of God is and where Believers who have passed on live. But like with most things involving the supernatural, we forget about the second heaven that we know exists because of today’s verse. It is the place where the fallen angels (demons) and Satan conduct business and do spiritual battle with God’s angels.

Here is where we can understand better what Jesus was saying in the Lord’s Prayer when He said “May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Matt. 6:10. When we live from earth to heaven, we are reactive to what we see, hear and feel. We pray asking God to intervene in our affairs of life that are often a part of the fall or the enemy working in our lives. But when we live from heaven to earth, it means we see, hear what God sees and hears. Jehovah who asks, “is there anything too hard for me”, and reminds us that nothing is impossible for Him. Our feelings have nothing to do with it, it’s all about what we know about Him and His Word. And we start to see things not as they are, but how they always were meant to be. And that’s when we see things begin to change.

Why? Because the second heaven might hold the enemy, but because we are seeing it from the third heaven, we are reminded that they have been disarmed and rendered useless and we have the authority and dominion over them. We have been given the ability, authority and power through our salvation. So in the first heaven we have earthly problems that are caused by the second heaven, therefore, they can only be solved by third heaven answers. That is why we need to walk with the Spirit to stay connected to our Savior and Lord. Tomorrow we will look at ways we can keep communication open with our Abba.
