We kept at it, repairing and rebuilding the wall. The whole wall was soon joined together and halfway to its intended height because the people had a heart for the work. Nehemiah 4:6 MSG
Yesterday was the National Day of Prayer, but it was only the beginning. Just like Nehemiah who was heartsick over the condition of Jerusalem and sought God through prayer for answer to the problem, we now have prayed. Now we need to continue to look to the Lord for wsidom and direction .
Along with hearing what the Lord is speaking to each of us, we also need a heart to do what He is asking of us. When our heart is in it, we can see things as God sees them and willing to sacrifice to help make it happen. We need to actively look at our church’s, our neighborhoods and communities. We need to ask what have I been missing, what are the needs and what are they lacking? Impossible you might be thinking. Take it to the Lord, He specializes in making the impossible, possible. The more impossible it is for us to accomplish it on our own, places us in a position for God to work and for us to follow His leading. Remember Matthew 19:26, Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
Are we as Believers ready to work with God to see the impossible happen? If so, then continue on in prayer, ask Holy Spirit to help you see the needs in your church, neighborhood and community. Then take it to the Lord in prayer tell Him your desire to be used of Him to help others see Jesus and how much He loves them. Then listen with all your heart for His prompts and nudges and soon you will be asking others to help you make a difference and influence your world and watch your relationship with the Lord deepen and become the blessing for others. Remember we are reminded that we are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2).
