“My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of his cross crucified me with him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, and dispenses his life into mine! Galatians 2:20 TPT
Yesterday the Sermon was about exercising our faith so that it will develop and empower us to accomplish all God has planned for us. Paul, then Saul had a life changing encounter with Jesus on the way to Damascus and it wrecked him, no it destroyed him. That’s why he could write today’s verse. He never met Jesus while He lived and walked this earth, but the encounter he had with Him transformed him, because He met Almighty God face to face. No force that he had met in this world could compare with the overwhelming power he experienced in His presence. He was overpowered with His love, grace, mercy and forgiveness.
The amazing thing Paul realized was that he didn’t have to generate any of those things, because Jesus was all those things and He lived in him. All he had to do now was believe that the faith OF Jesus was working in him to help him become more like Him, and live his life through Jesus not just for Him. How awesome is that revelation! When we too grasp the that truth we will develop the faith that will overcome fear just like Paul that got him through beatings, prison, shipwrecks, snakebites to name a few. He developed his faith to believe that nothing is impossible with God. Having the faith of Jesus, means we can call those things that we don’t see into being as we live in His will.
