Before you do anything,
put your trust totally in God and not in yourself.
Then every plan you make will succeed. Proverbs 16:3 TPT
If I have to hear about the “experts” too much longer I’m not sure I won’t be compelled to unplug from every form of media. Tonight when they were going on about the Covid virus and what the experts are telling us what to do about it, I couldn’t help but think of Noah’s Ark vs. the Titanic.
As a person who loves history I have always been intrigued by the Titanic. I learned in my first book report about it in Jr. High, that the iceberg was not to blame. Needless to say my teacher didn’t appreciate my synopsis, but I did pass, because it was so factual. Yes, the iceberg is what caused the superficial damage, the ship sank because of internal and integral flaws. Sure there were water proof compartments, but only if the water didn’t get deeper than the wall, which didn’t go all the way up to the ceiling. The steel and the rivets were of inferior quality some because they were made of inferior material, others because they were made too quickly in order to keep within the time the ship needed to sail and other errors of the experts. All these things together destroyed the integrity of the “unsinkable” ship.
On the other hand there was the ark. It was built by Noah, who never needed a boat, because it never had rained yet. He had no idea what a boat looked like, nor what it was supposed to do. All he knew was to do what God told him; what to make it out of, how to make every part, how to make it waterproof, the size of every compartment and even how long they would have to stay inside of it in great detail. it wasn’t done in a hurry either, it took him 120 years! Following God’s every direction kept all the animals aboard safe and Noah and his family through the worst flood this world has ever seen and ever will see. Because Noah listened to the true Expert, the earth could be repopulated once more and made it possible for us to be here and enjoy all the beauty this world has to offer. Not only did it survive the flood, but on a mountain in Turkey is basically the intact Ark Noah and God built.
So tell me, who is more brilliant, the experts and their worldly wisdom, or an apprentice following God’s instructions? In light of what you read whose advice would you take mans or God’s. Maybe we should all declare every day like Joshua, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
