So no wonder we don’t give up. For even though our outer person gradually wears out, our inner being is renewed every single day. We view our slight, short-lived troubles in the light of eternity. We see our difficulties as the substance that produces for us an eternal, weighty glory far beyond all comparison, because we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 TPT
Walking in a relationship with Jesus is truly a journey. Although there were many things about her walk with the Lord that Susie didn’t understand, and sometimes her faith waivered, she kept wanting to learn more about Him. She said the best thing she learned was how much He loves us even when it feels like He isn’t hearing us. She said she knew it was true because she never lost the peace she felt that first day she accepted Him into her life. She loved hearing Philippians 4:7 then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. One of her favorite songs was I’ve Just Seen Jesus, especially the line and I will never be the same again. And she wasn’t.
On days when she was having difficulty believing, because in her words, she had trust issues, I would read verses of encouragement to her. One day I told her that this verse reminded me of her because no matter what she never gave up. She looked at me and said, “but now that never giving up isn’t as difficult because I’m not doing it alone.” She was amazed that even when her faith seemed to be failing, He was still faithful to her. She was never alone, He would never leave or forsake her. She would sing, Because He Lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives, all fear is gone. The truth of that song was seen as she got weaker and weaker, there was no fear, no anxiety, just a peaceful resolve that she was going to see her Savior and Lord and so many others she loved who had gone on before. She just drifted off into an eternal sleep and into the arms of Jesus.
I will miss her dearly, but I promised her I would keep telling her story so that others would be encouraged to enter into a relationship with Jesus, so they too would never be the same. That even if you have trust issues and no matter what is in your past, God loves you and wants to be your heavenly Father and give you the abundant life you always dreamed of.
If you want to enter into a relationship with Jesus, tell Him you’re tired and weary from the things of this world, that you recieve His forgiveness of all your sins past, present and future and receiving the gift of Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct your life. Amen.
If you have prayed that, then please call or e-mail us and let us know you are now part of the family of God. We’d love to walk with you on your new journey, for as the Scripture tells us two are better than one.
