Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men[a] from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem Matthew 2:1
Yesterday we saw that God was preparing the way for the Magi to help fulfill prophecy way back in the book of Daniel. Daniel reached the position of the third highest ruler, which gave him the opportunity to teach the scholars, wisemen and astronomers about Prophetic Scripture down through the centuries. Once they saw the prophecy of the Messiah fulfilled, they knew they needed to move and follow that star. In so doing, they showed us what truly made them wise men and when we follow the lessons learned, we can be wise also.
The first thing is they followed through on what they had learned. Just knowing about the fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy wasn’t enough, being true men of science, they had to get up and go, following the star. And they did and not only found the Prophecies to be true, but they were actually a part of the fulfillment.
We are living in the end times where we have seen Biblical Prophecy fulfilled. We like the Magi have a choice, we can read the prophecies and shake our heads yes in agreement, but never get up and go be a part of this amazing time in history. This is the best time to be able to share with others that Jesus is Who He said He is and how Scripture is proving prophecies that were made thousands of years ago being fulfilled. Even if they don’t agree, seeds are planted and given food for thought.
We need to ask ourselves if we are as wise as the Magi and willing to step out of our comfort zones to show others the real Jesus of love, grace mercy and forgiveness? Jesus came into this world as an infant, so He could grow up showing us how we can live a life of generosity, grace, hope and love so that all would see God as He truly is through His Son. Are we willing to go and do what we have learned and know? It brings a whole new meaning to spreading Christmas Cheer. Now go and be a part of it.
