But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Corinthians 2:7-8
For far too long people including the church have given Satan way too much power. The truth is he has been disarmed and defeated at the cross and the tomb as well as his henchman. Although he is supernatural, after all he was an arch angel of the Lord. But his powers aren’t matched or equaled to Gods. His greatest powers are fear, deception and lying for through the strategic use of those he can manipulate and control people and the things of this world.
The good news is Believers through their relationship with Jesus Christ know this and have the ability to identify, discern and overcome them. One of the biggest ways Satan attacks Believers is through our thoughts. So many times Satan makes us think certain thoughts are our own, but they’re not, they are his to control us. Unlike God he cannot know our thoughts or the language of Holy Spirit as we are told in today’s passage. We need to remember this to help us exchange his lies for the truth of the Word of God.
So next time you start thinking of something that goes against God and His Word, exchange it for the truth. Not only will it stop the thought, but because the lie is replaced by the truth, it doesn’t leave room for the enemy. The more replacing we do, the more we will find the enemy will be less and less affective in our lives. Don’t let the enemy steal, deceive and hinder you anymore, for truly greater is the One who is in you, because He is the only One with absolute power.
