“The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man.” Acts 17:24
When we think or hear about verses that talk of the temple of God, we don’t usually think of today’s verse. But this verse makes it very clear that God does not live in our buildings called churches, for they are man made. Rather this verse reminds us where He does live today on this earth; in all those who have received Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
This is why there is no need for a man made temple any longer to go to worship for we are His temples where Holy Spirit lives. And when we remember that, it should give us pause as to how we’re living. Are we respecting and caring for His temple? Are we allowing Him to be seen by others through us? Do we truly understand the Greatness that is living inside of us through Jesus Christ? God living in a building is limiting, but Him in living in us through His Holy Spirit is beyond anything we can hope, think or even imagine. Nothing is impossible for those who truly believe nothing is impossible with God.
