“Hush! Be still!” All at once the wind stopped howling and the water became perfectly calm. Mark 4:39
Today is Christmas Eve, the busiest and holiest day of the year. Yes, today most of us live the extremes in one 24 hour period without even realizing it. All day long getting everything “ready” at a breakneck speed, so we can go to church to be reminded of what Christmas is all about. I know, when you read it and say it, it’s crazy. And this isn’t just a “Christian” thing, it’s the world’s mindset too.
Right now many are feeling like the disciples in the boat with Jesus, stressed and even fearful about what’s been going on in the world. But tonight, many around the world will experience a calm that the Savior of the World brought with Him that Christmas night as the Prince of Peace.
Don’t wait until tonight to go to Jesus and asked Him to help you calm your heart and mind. Feel Him take you in His arms, softly brush your hair with His mighty hand and quietly say, “hush my child, be still. I am here, your peace.” Then enjoy the rest of the day looking forward to celebrate Salvation coming into the world and His name is Jesus.
Maybe you have never received this amazing gift, today is the perfect time to ask Jesus to come and be your Savior, receive His forgiveness of your sins and the empowerment of His Holy Spirit to continue to grow in His love, grace and wisdom. His Word says if we believe in our hearts that Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin, lived a life of example for us, died a cruel death on the cross to break the curse and rose again on the third day to overcome the evil of this world, then, you will be saved! This is just the beginning of an amazing journey of learning to walk with Him to an amazing life. We’d love for you to contact us either by e-mail or phone, so we can help you live out your new life in Jesus. The journey is always more fun with someone.
If you have received Jesus’ substiutionary sacrifice, but feel distant from Him, then this is the perfect time to remind yourself that He would never leave you nor forsake you ever! It doesn’t matter how far away He feels, just reach out and touch Him, He’s there. We’d love to have you join us in our Bible Studies and Worship.
Merry Christmas Eve
