And every day, in the Temple and from house to house, they continued to teach and preach this message: “Jesus is the Messiah.” Acts 5:42
Our nation is preparing to begin to gradually open up again. But many are wondering what will it look like? Will things be like before? how long will we need to wear masks and social distance? What will it mean to go to the movies, or sporting events, etc? What will it look like when we get back to church?
None of these things will look the same for awhile, including the way we “do” church. I can’t help but wonder if God is getting us to get back to the basics. We have become so focused on out church buildings, worship music, programs, etc. we’ve completely forgotten, WE ARE THE CHURCH! And when the “church” first started it didn’t happen in buildings, it happened in houses, where they broke bread sometimes several times a day and focused on Jesus and what He taught them.
What if this happened to make us focus back on our relationship with Jesus and others? Are you ready to go to someones home and worship, share the word and break bread? Would you be willing to open your home? Take time today to consider these things. Ask Holy Spirit to show you what you might need to change in your life to follow His leading. Think of all the ways meeting with a small group could actually spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in ways we now can only imagine.
God will always use the things that were meant to destroy His Gospel and Followers and turn it into something better than if it never happened. Are you ready to stand still and see the Mighty Power and work of God to reveal His transformative glory?
