Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6
The other day I was talking with someone about not understanding God and what He is doing sometimes. We thought about the times He is silent and how the silence sometimes near kills us. We feel so alone, and then because of that, we seek Him even more and just as He promised we find Him. The truth is neither of us would have become so fervent in our prayers had that not happened.
I also shared that there are some things I’ve been dealing with for years, and still don’t have an answer to my questions. It seems at times His answers are disappointment and loss. But then He leads me to passages that talk about David living in a cave, and Gideon leading a handful of soldiers gleaned from Israel’s mighty army to win an impossible battle. Then the words that at first I used to dread and now hold on to with hope and promise, “You don’t need to understand, just trust me.”
Sometimes that phrase comes in a comforting, still quiet voice. Other times it seems to shout with the roar of a mighty ocean. But no matter how it comes, I know it’s true and I can rest on His promises, If you are going through something you don’t understand, just trust Him. I can truly tell you from experience that He is faithful and He will take you through.
