And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” 2 Cor. 9:8-11
In Genesis 12:2-3 God tells Abram that he will become great and be blessed to be a blessing. And through this blessing and his descendants, all the families of the earth will be blessed. And as Believers in Jesus, His has made us descendants of father Abraham. Therefore, we have been called to be a blessing in this world.
Today’s verse reminds us that we don’t have to try to attempt this in our humanness, but God has enabled us to accomplish it through His Spirit. He promises that we will have all things at all times, whatever we need so we can accomplish what He has called us to. This also includes knowing not only who to bless, but how to bless them. In and of ourselves we can not know these things, but through Holy Spirit He can reveal these things to us. Let us pray for Holy Spirit to continue to give us opportunity to bless others so they may see the true Jesus and will make Him their Savior and Lord of their lives.
