Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before him, for if we ask anything agreeable to his will, he will hear us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have obtained the requests we ask of him. 1 John 5:14-15 TPT
The other night I went to see the new movie from Jonathan Cahn, The Harbingers of Things to Come. The first part was a review of all the things that have happened since the 9-1-1 Terrorist Attack that align with ancient Israel. The second part revealed new parallels, especially things about the pandemic. It truly is amazing to see how God is trying to get our attention, just like He did with Israel. And although God is showing judgment He also is tempering it with grace, just as He did in the Old Testament with Israel. And for the same purpose, to give us time to turn our hearts back to Him.
But the last part of the movie is the part that we the church need to not only hear, but receive and step out on. We were reminded that back in the mid 1970’s we were at a place very similar to where we are today in almost every way. We were also reminded that in 1980 things began to turn around, because the citizens not only wanted a change, but they knew in order to survive we would once again have to get back to our roots. And now we find ourselves having to make a very similar decision. And once again the church is reminded of the answer which is found in our roots grounded in 2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray. . .
Now more than ever all those who are blood bought children of God need to pray not for things to be changed, but rather that hearts and minds are transformed by the power of Holy Spirit. A result will bring revival that will once again only last a short period of time, but will add to the Kingdom of God, which is what God wants to happen. The real question is, are we willing to pray like today’s verse says with confidence and boldness knowing that when we ask what is agreeable to His will, He will hear and He will give us what we ask for. If you are among those willing, the time to begin to pray as such is now!
