I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God;
Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech.
Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand,
O You who save those who trust in You
From those who rise up against them. Psalm 17:6-7
The more I talk with people the more I hear the almost panic in their voices as Election Day is only a month away. Fueling this are the almost non-stop commercials and advertisements bashing one another and the hindrance of deception and lies. So what are we to do? Well with the internet and voting records on Congress and the Senate, we can do our homework and check to see what is the truth so we can have an informed vote. But we live in the United States and everyone has a right to their own opinion and we can’t change someone else’s mindset.
What we can do as Believers is to pray for the lies and deception to be revealed and the truth shine forth in the darkness. That hearts and minds would be transformed by the truth. God is able to more in a moment to change the trajectory of any event than any person here on earth no matter how charismatic or manipulative they might be. Seeking the truth whatever it may show should be our goal in all things, even if it shows us that we may be believing wrongly. So let’s start praying for the truth to be revealed to us and to be willing to walk it out then and to change the things that can be changed through Holy Spirit’s leading and guiding. Lives will be transformed and so will everything around us.
