To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours: 1 Corinthians 1:2
Today is All Saints Day on the Christian Calendar a day set aside to remember the saints who have died. But who are the saints? Those who were martyred and gave their lives for Jesus Christ? Those who lived holy and righteous lives for Him? Those who did miracles in His name? The answer is in Scripture several times Acts 9:13, Romans 8:27, Revelation 14:12, it’s every person who accepts Jesus as their Savior and Lord and receives His salvation.
So today, let’s remember and honor all the saints who have gone on before us and give Jesus all our praise for making a way for all of us to become His saints who will proclaim His Name as our Savior and Lord forever. Oh and by the way, All Hallows Eve which is celebrated on October 31 the Old English translation would have been All Holy One’s Eve to usher in All Saints Day. It was the pagans that made it into a celebration of the dead. So instead of us celebrating death, we should be celebrating the everlasting life of all those who placed their trust in Jesus.
