And the king loved Esther more than all the women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the maidens, so that he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. Esther 2:17 Amp
Today our Jewish friends will begin celebrating Purim. It is a reminder of God’s protection and provision over the Jewish people while exiled in Persia. The Biblical and Persian accounts tell of a plot by Haman one of the political aides of King Xerxes to destroy the Jewish people. But everything he tried to do, always turned around on him. Even the new Queen Esther(herself a Jew, which the king did not know) had more influence over the king than him, and because of her fearless act to go before the king without being summoned, the Jewish people were once again saved. Haman was hung on his own gallows and Mordecai, Esthers uncle was made second in command to the king.
This is an amazing story of God’s intervention, protection and preservation of His people. How many of us feel that we have a Haman working in our lives to destroy us? But although he is an irritant and causes us trouble God is working behind the scenes to bring about His plan; if we keep our faith and trust in Him. The God who worked in the lives of Esther and Mordecai to help save the Jewish nation, is the same God today. He promises us that He never changes, He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Are you experiencing a destructive force in your life today, then take courage God is still in charge and will make a way for you just as he did for Esther. I enocurage you to read the entire account in the Book of Esther, it’s only 10 short chapters, but it will change your life and perspective.
