They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47
My Auntie Marge loved watching shows about Meerkats. She even had a Meerkat stuffed animal gamily sitting on the back of her sofa. The one day I asked her, Margie why do you love Meerkats so much? She said because their a family they take care of one another.
Meerkats live in the desert and their survival is found in community. They all work as a team and have duties and some of those duties are carried out on a rotational basis. This teamwork forms strong social bonds because each member plays a vital part in keeping the Community safe, fed and cared for which is essential for thriving in such a challenging environment.
Every member of the Community including the young know they are protected by one another. This develops a peaceful place to live even in the times of danger, they know they can depend on one another. This is the strength that makes everything work together to create an almost impenetrable force around them.
So question? Are you a Meerkat in your home, neighborhood and church? Are you concerned with the safety and care of others or are you just concerned about yourself? Are you willing to work together with others to bring stability and strength to others? God’s will for the family and the church is to learn that working together is the best way to achieve His purposes and beneficial to all. We are called to be a family and work together for the good of all. So let’s resolve ourselves to make sure we know what a valuable and significant part we play in carrying out God’s will for His family here on earth.
