Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Today is the first day of Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse for 2025. A time when people fill shoeboxes with toys, school items and things kids 2-14 love. These boxes then go all over the world to let children know they are loved and valued by Jesus. Many of these children never have received a Christmas gift or even heard of Jesus. They live in places that aren’t even on the map. But Jesus still sees them and has a plan for their lives.
This years theme is about rejoicing, praying and giving thanks in all things. The good, the bad and all the middle. We rejoice that we can fill shoeboxes that will have the ability not only to change a child’s life, but often their entire family. We pray over these boxes that those who filled them would be blessed, that the items in them will reach the child who needs them. And we thank God that He has blessed them and made a way for them to get to every child who needs to know Jesus.
So every day until next Monday there will be an amazing story about a shoebox, it’s journey and the child who receives it. Each story will reveal how much God loves us and stops at nothing to accomplish His purposes and lead others into a relationship with Him. He never ceases to amaze those who take the time to slow down and look for Him.
