He holds you firmly in place;
He will not let you fall.
He who keeps you will never take His eyes off you and never drift off to sleep.
4 What a relief! The One who watches over Israel
never leaves for rest or sleep. Psalm 121:3-4 VOICE
These are days that can fill us with worry and fear that raises our stress levels and causes anxiety. And unfortunately it’s difficult to not be bombarded by news updates 24/7 of the war between Israel and Iran. But those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior have a confidence of protection the world does not have. We are held by the protective hand of Almighty God, that holds us in a place of His peace and comfort.
So many times the Psalmist reminds us of the protection we receive from our Abba through His Son Jesus. He always not only sees where we are, but sees our hearts and minds. When we begin to worry and fret we are reminded that He never takes a break from watching over us. He has placed Holy Spirit in us, so that we can experience the peace of Jesus and be able to rest our hearts and minds.
Another good way to receive His protection and peace is to pray for Israel and its protection. For there is a blessing (Genesis 12:2-3), in that those who bless Israel, God will bless; but not for ourselves alone, but so we can bless others. Israel and its citizens need for us to pray protection over them and their cities for scripture tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6). It also gets our minds off ourselves and circumstances and keeps them on God.
Beloved this is not a time to be fearful and unsure. It is a time to show the world what a life looks like that trusts in the Lord in all His ways. Next time you find yourself going to a scary place you don’t want to be, quote today’s verses and watch as your fears fade and your peace, encouragement and hope grow. Don’t let the enemy steal from you any longer, instead remember he already has been defeated and you are now free! And then remind him, he is a defeated foe.
