I must calm down and turn to God;
he is my only hope.
He is my Rock, the only one who can save me.
He is my high place of safety, where no army can defeat me. Psalm 62:5-6 ERV
Today is the first day of our weekend, a time to spend differently than in the work week. Yet for those who work on a Saturday, it’s a day that is a regular day. For those in Ukraine it is a day of the unknown. For the Russian people it’s a day of dismay for the actions of their country. But wht if we would think as today to be a day to focus on the Lord, our only hope, no matter what circumstance we’re living in.
Let’s take the advice of today’s Scripture and calm down and focus on our only Hope. Let’s pray powerful prayers of thanksgiving over the innocent people in Ukraine and Russia who are being hurt that God is taking them to safe places. Being grateful for the reports of many “unexplained” ways God is showing up and deterring and defeating the enemy. Pray for wisdom and discernment of the Ukranian leaders and for thier allies to make decisions that will deter Russia even more.
Let’s be grateful that we have a Rock to stand on and declare we will have peace in the midst of the this storm and the strength and courage to step out and follow wherever Jesus is leading us, so we can be a great help to those who need Him now. Yes, no matter where you are today or what you are doing. I encourage you to remember to rest in the Lord and watch Him truly overcome the evil in the world and make it into something that will bring helaing and hope of a future.
