When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.“When you come looking for me, you’ll find me.“Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree. Jeremiah 29:13-14
How many times have we found ourselves wondering if God really hears us? And if He does, why isn’t He listening to us. But today’s passage reminds us that He does not only hear us, but He is listening not only to our words, but our hearts cries. So many times the reason we don’t feel like He’s answering us is because we’re not looking for Him. We’re just looking for the answer and not just any answer, but the one we think He should give us.
Look at what this says, it’s only in looking for Him that not only will the answer be found, but we won’t be disappointed by it. When you pray, are you just asking for an answer to some issue in life? Or are you looking for a deeper relationship with the One who has the answers to every issue in life? God is longing for a realtionship with us, to walk with us and talk with us, help us learn the voice of Holy Spirit, so that even when we’re not asking for something specific that we are being led and guided by Him.
Are you finding that you are feeling disappointed with life? Does it seem that even when you’re praying the response is falling short of your expectations? Then try looking for Him instead of just an answer and you will get more than you expected because you will develop a deeper relationship with Him and not only the answer you are looking for but the answer to so many other questions you may have. With God, the answer is never just enough, it’s always more than we we could ever expect, hope or imagine.
