Put on truth as a belt to strengthen you to stand in triumph. Put on holiness (righteousness) as the protective armor(breastplate) that covers your heart. Stand on your feet alert, then you’ll always be ready to share the blessings of peace. Ephesians 6:14-15 TPT
As I talk with people one of the things that seems to be bothering them is they don’t know who to believe. There is only one truth and His name is Jesus Christ. When we don’t know who to believe, we can go to the Lord and seek His wisdom and ask Holy Spirit to show us what the truth is. Not only of what is going on around us, but what’s going on inside of us. Sometimes making changes within ourselves can actually help us be the change that’s needed all around us.
Our hearts are very vulnerable and in these uncertain times, we want to protect them and keep them from disappointment and hurt. But sometimes no matter how we try, it still happens. Lately a lot of people have had their hearts hurt and broken. Relationships have been pushed to the limit, dreams have been lost or died, lives have been shattered and hopes dashed. Since we can’t stop these things happening, we can protect our hearts and know that the Healer of broken hearts can not only help us heal, but start over knowing we don’t have to do it on our own, the Lord is not only with us, but will equip us to accomplish the new dreams He has placed in our restored hearts.
One of the greatest things we can do is share how the Lord has worked in our lives. Not just all the good and great things He has done, but those times He comforted us, kept us from being killed in an accident, helaing our broken heart, walked with us through our depression, etc. When we are real with people, they see the true Jesus, the One who is a friend who sticks closer than a brother(Proverbs 18:24). Actually sharing that He is with us during the hard times is usually speaks to people louder, because that’s when we need the peace that only He can give.
All these pieces of armor are available to us, but we need to put them on to function. Ask yourself if you have put these three pieces on lately. If you haven’t now is a great time to begin. You will see the results are amazing. Tomorrow we will look at the rest of our amazing armor.
